ISIS claims responsibility for deadly blast at Hazrat Khadija Kubra Mosque in Islamabad
On Saturday morning, the ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the Friday terrorist attack on the Hazrat Khadija Kubra (PBUH) Mosque in the Tarla area of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
The explosion occurred during Friday prayers, and according to the latest figures announced by Islamabad police, at least 31 people were killed and dozens more were injured.
Eyewitnesses reported that a loud explosion occurred seconds after the gunshot. Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif wrote on X-Net that the suicide bomber blew himself up in the last row of worshippers and had a history of traveling to Afghanistan.
The Pakistani Defense Minister also accused India of supporting the attack, but the Indian Foreign Ministry categorically rejected the accusation and strongly condemned the attack.
Pakistani security investigations are ongoing to identify the support network and the elements involved in this terrorist attack.
