Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman: Pakistan’s claims about Islamabad mosque incident are baseless and irresponsible

Enaitullah Kharazmi, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, called the statements “irresponsible and without any logic and basis” in response to Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif’s immediate claim that Afghanistan was linked to the terrorist attack on the Hazrat Khadija Mosque in Islamabad.

He pointed to the official condemnation of the incident by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate and stressed that Pakistani authorities have once again pointed the finger of accusation at Afghanistan without investigating the previous procedure.

“If they identified the perpetrators immediately after the incident, why did they fail to neutralize and prevent this event before it happened?” asked Kharazmi.

The Defense Ministry spokesman added that such hasty accusations neither hide Pakistan’s security failures nor solve the problems.

He emphasized that the Afghan government adheres to Islamic values, does not consider killing and harassing innocent people for political purposes permissible, and does not support the perpetrators of such terrorist acts.

Kharazmi called on Pakistani security officials to perform their duties properly, reconsider their policies, and instead of avoiding and opposing their own people and neighboring countries, adopt a spirit of positive interaction and cooperation.
