Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov immediately held Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime responsible for this terrorist act, saying it was aimed at disrupting ongoing negotiations on the Ukraine war and undermining efforts to reach an agreement.

The Kremlin announced that Vladimir Putin is aware of the developments and that security agencies are closely investigating the incident. Alexeyev is considered one of Russia’s key military figures and is under Western sanctions due to his prominent role in the Syrian operation, the Ukrainian war, and negotiations with former Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Kiev has not yet commented on the allegations.
