US President Donald Trump has warned Britain to avoid close ties with China.
In response to reporters’ questions about the recent rapprochement between London and Beijing, Trump said: “This is very dangerous for them.”
The comments come as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during his recent visit to China, praised the economic benefits of resuming relations with the country.
During a three-hour meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Starmer called for a more complex relationship with Beijing, including better access to the Chinese market, tariff reductions and investment agreements.
