Arab countries strongly warn Washington that military action against Iran would be a disaster

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated in recent private meetings that the US government’s initial actions towards Iran may be non-kinetic and that a large-scale and overt military attack on Iran is not expected.

Citing Axios and informed sources, Rubio emphasized that discussions within the US government on how to respond to the Iranian situation are still in the early stages and that a final decision on military action has not yet been made.

Meanwhile, regional media have reported that Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states have strongly urged the United States to refrain from military action against Iran, warning that such an attack could have “catastrophic” consequences for the region.

These countries have expressed concern about the widespread instability, threats against vital energy facilities and disruptions to key oil export routes, and have emphasized the need for political and diplomatic solutions to resolve disputes.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain have urged restraint and diplomatic dialogue in their official statements, warning that escalating military tensions endanger the security and stability of the region.

According to the Khaleej Times and other sources, some of these countries have told Washington that they will not allow the use of their military bases or airspace to attack Iran.

This stance puts significant diplomatic pressure on the United States because many of the American bases in the region are located on the territory of these countries.

These developments are occurring as widespread protests continue in Iran and the Trump administration is considering various options, including civilian support for the protesters, but no final decision has been made yet.
