Italy donates €2.4 million to Afghanistan Special Trust Fund
The Afghanistan Special Trust Fund announced on Thursday that Italy has contributed 2.4 million euros (equivalent to about 2.8 million dollars) to the fund.
This assistance is aimed at supporting the preservation of cultural heritage, improving and upgrading human settlements, and advancing climate-resilient economic solutions for Afghan communities.
The Afghanistan Special Trust Fund has thanked the Italian government for this assistance.
This news comes two days after the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that 21.9 million people in Afghanistan will need humanitarian assistance next year, and humanitarian partners have requested $1.72 billion for about 17.5 million people.
