257 journalists killed and over 420 injured in Gaza war
The Gaza State Information Office announced on the occasion of “Loyalty Day to Palestinian Journalists” (December 31) that the Zionist regime has martyred 257 journalists and injured more than 420 others with varying degrees of severity during the two-year genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
According to the office’s statement, in 2025 alone, 56 journalists were martyred while performing their professional duties.
The fate of three journalists remains unknown, and 50 others have been arrested and tortured.
These statistics indicate the Israeli regime’s systematic and deliberate attacks against journalists and media institutions, aimed at silencing the voice of truth and concealing war crimes; an action that is a clear violation of international laws and conventions protecting journalists in armed conflicts.
The Gaza State Information Office emphasized that Palestinian journalists are on the front lines of defending the truth and, at the heavy cost of their lives and security, are providing an honest account of the crimes of the occupiers.
