Zelensky: We have received US support for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has declared that the country’s accession to the European Union must be clearly stipulated in the peace agreement as a real security guarantee.
Zelensky stressed that this clause was included in the updated draft of the peace agreement and that the United States, as the main author of the document, supports this position.
He added that it is important for Ukraine to set a specific date for joining the European Union, rather than just mentioning the prospect of membership.
These statements come as negotiations continue to end the war with Russia, and membership in the European Union is one of the security guarantees sought by Kiev.
