Kazakhstan emphasizes expansion of trade relations with Afghanistan through Herat-Turghandi railway

Yasin Taif Arman, head of the Kazakh Chamber of Commerce in Herat, stressed the development of economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, especially through the Herat-Turghandi railway.

According to the press office of Herat province, Mr. Arman called the development of the Herat-Turghandi transit route important and announced Kazakhstan’s goal to provide the ground for exporting Afghan goods to the country through Herat.

He also assured that Kazakhstan is ready for practical cooperation in the construction and development of the Herat-Torghandi railway and is focused on expanding bilateral cooperation.

In contrast, Maulana Noor Ahmad Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, welcomed Kazakhstan’s efforts to strengthen trade relations and emphasized solving existing problems in the transit and transportation sector through railways.

The Governor of Herat considered the development of railways to be a key factor in the growth of trade, job creation, and strengthening of the national economy, adding that the local administration has always worked to remove obstacles to the railway route and facilitate the transport of goods.
