Five passengers were killed and 44 others were injured after a Type 580 passenger bus overturned on the Salangha Highway.
The incident occurred around 2:00 AM on Sunday in the North Salang Pass area.
The car was traveling from north to south when it veered off the main road and overturned due to the driver’s carelessness.
Officials from the Salangha Conservation and Maintenance Department of the Ministry of Public Works quickly arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to the Khenjan Clinic.
The ministry once again called on citizens and drivers to take the instructions of the Salang teams seriously, observe traffic rules, and bring warm clothes, food, and chains.
Currently, the Salangha Highway is temporarily closed due to snowfall and stormy weather, and personnel are clearing the snow.
