As a new wave of torrential rains accompanied by thunderstorms hit the center and south of the Gaza Strip, dozens of tents housing displaced people in Khan Yunis and the al-Mawasi area were completely submerged.
Published images show that the flood has engulfed tents one after another, leaving thousands of Palestinian refugees homeless amid the mud and severe winter cold.
The main and secondary roads in the Al-Mawasi area have also been closed, making traffic almost impossible.
Displaced residents say there is no alternative shelter or immediate assistance available, and living conditions in the camps are bordering on disaster.
