China could completely cut off Starlink in Taiwan with 935 to 2,000 drones

Chinese researchers announced in a military simulation that using 935 to 2,000 drones equipped with electronic jamming equipment could completely block access to Starlink satellite internet in an area the size of Taiwan.

This joint research was conducted by Zhejiang University and the Beijing Institute of Technology, and its results show that drones flying at an altitude of about 20 kilometers are able to create an electromagnetic shield and cut off communication between ground users and Starlink satellites.

The simulation was conducted using real-world position data from more than 10,000 Starlink satellites over 12 hours.

The test comes as military and technological tensions between China and the West over Taiwan continue, with Starlink being considered as a potential means of communication in wartime
