Massive explosions in Kiev, massive Russian drone and missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital
Ukrainian media reported on Tuesday morning that loud explosions were heard in various parts of the country’s capital, caused by widespread Russian air and missile attacks.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the attack as “a widespread missile and drone attack” in a statement, saying “loud explosions” had been heard in several areas of the city.
He added that Ukrainian air defenses have managed to intercept dozens of cruise missiles and suicide drones, but these attacks have caused serious damage to infrastructure.
According to reports, electricity was cut off in several residential and central areas of Kiev due to missile strikes, and the city’s military governor ordered the immediate evacuation of residents of a residential complex in the Podilskyi district after a direct hit.
Latest reports indicate that at least five people were injured in the overnight missile attack, while local authorities are investigating the full extent of the incident
