Putin welcomes establishment of UN Sustainable Development Goals Center in Central Asia and Afghanistan
Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the establishment of the United Nations Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan, calling it a key platform for implementing long-term and mutually beneficial projects across Central Asia and Afghanistan.
This position was announced during the official visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Moscow.
The agreement to establish this center was signed on August 3rd of this year.
The United Nations has announced that the center will play an important role in accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 in the Central Asia region and Afghanistan.
