Russian forces advance in the city of Pokrovsk, eastern Ukraine
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces have made significant progress in the strategic city of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine and that a house-to-house operation is underway to drive Ukrainian forces out of the city.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, parts of the country’s army have managed to seize new positions in Pokrovsk, and fierce field clashes with Ukrainian forces continue.
Pokrovsk is known as an important logistics center for the Ukrainian army, and its control could have a direct impact on the Donbass front.
This advance comes as Russian forces have increased their pressure on the Pokrovsk axis in recent months.
Russian officials have emphasized that the operation will continue with the goal of completely liberating the Donetsk region.
On the other hand, Ukrainian authorities have not yet officially responded to these claims, but field reports indicate an escalation of conflicts in the region.
