Pakistan denies reports of US using its territory to attack Afghanistan

The Pakistani military has strongly denied reports that the United States has been allowed to carry out air strikes from its territory over Afghanistan.

Pakistani army spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry emphasized in a press conference with reporters that the country’s forces have killed 112 foreign fighters in the past three to four months, indicating Pakistan’s independent fight against terrorism without any military cooperation with the United States.

The statement came in response to Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, who said US drones were entering Afghanistan from Pakistani airspace and Kabul had asked Islamabad to prevent the use of its territory and airspace for operations against Afghanistan.

Chaudhry’s remarks come ahead of the November 6 meeting in Türkiye, which is the follow-up to last month’s six-day talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Istanbul.
