Assassination of key leader of ISIS Khorasan in Peshawar, Pakistan

Unidentified gunmen assassinated Nusrat, known as Pahlavan Musa, and Abuzar, a prominent figure in the Khorasan branch of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), in Peshawar, Pakistan, media reported, citing security sources.

According to these sources, Nusrat Pahlawan planned and directed a number of attacks in Kabul and surrounding provinces in 2022 and 2023.

He also led an important center called “Pahlawan” in Pakistan and had special skills in urban and guerrilla warfare along with training subordinates in foreign countries.

This assassination has dealt a serious blow to the structure of the Khorasan branch of ISIS, and further details about the identity of the attackers have not yet been determined.
