China breaks world train speed record with CR450 at 450 km/h

China has set a new record in the world rail industry with the successful test of the CR450 high-speed train, which reached a speed of 450 kilometers per hour.

The train, which was unveiled last November, was initially designed for speeds of 400 kilometers per hour, but after a year of continuous testing, it is now in its final testing phase.

China’s high-speed train must travel 600,000 kilometers to receive a commercial operation license and is expected to enter the commercial phase in 2026.

With an improved aerodynamic design, a 15-meter nose, an advanced suspension system, and a weight reduction of 55 tons, this train was able to reach a speed of 350 kilometers per hour in just 4 minutes and 40 seconds.

The train has taken a major step in the development of rail transport technology by surpassing the record set by the CR400 Fuxing train at 350 kilometers per hour.
