India looking to buy five additional S-400 air defense systems from Russia
The Hindustan Times reported that India is in talks with Russia to purchase or jointly produce five additional S-400 air defense systems to bolster its defense capabilities.
According to sources in defense circles, representatives from the Indian Ministry of Defense will meet with their Russian counterparts this week to discuss the details of the deal.
The agreement is set to be finalized before Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India in early December.
These advanced systems, which have already played an effective role in India’s recent conflicts with Pakistan, are part of New Delhi’s efforts to strengthen its long-range defense potential.
Russian sources such as TASS and Pravda have also confirmed these negotiations and emphasize that India has allocated the necessary funds for this purchase.
The deal, despite potential US sanctions, demonstrates India’s commitment to a strategic defense relationship with Moscow.
