Putin: sending of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine is destroying Russia-US relations
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that a possible US decision to send long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine would completely destroy relations between Moscow and Washington.
In his speech at the Valdai Conference, he emphasized that this action destroys the recent positive trend in relations between the two countries and that equipping Kiev with these missiles with a range of 2,500 kilometers will greatly increase tensions.
Putin, noting that how things turn out does not depend solely on us, added: “Sending Ta Mohawk to Kiev would destroy our relations.”
These statements were made as reports emerged of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asking Donald Trump to receive these missiles on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
American officials have not yet made a decision on this matter, but Russia considers any use of these weapons impossible without direct involvement of the American military.
