Unidentified drones over Denmark, closure of skies and NATO bases
A few minutes ago, several unidentified drones were spotted over NATO military bases in Denmark, including the location of F-16 and F-35 fighter jets.
Danish police announced that the drones appeared near the Fighter Wing and the Aalborg Skrydstrup Air Base in southern Jutland, leading to a complete closure of the country’s skies.
The incident, which Danish authorities have described as a hybrid attack, is the second airport closure this week; Copenhagen Airport was previously closed due to similar drone sightings.
The drones, which are likely Russian, have disappeared without a trace, and the Danish police and armed forces are investigating.
Similar sightings have been reported in the Esbjerg, Sønderborg and Skjerstrup fields, putting NATO and the European Union on alert.
The events come as tensions have risen over Russia’s violation of NATO airspace, which European officials see as an attempt to test NATO’s defenses.
