Poland calls for UN Security Council meeting to discuss Russian drone intrusion
The Polish government on Wednesday requested that South Korea, as the rotating president of the United Nations Security Council, hold an urgent meeting to examine the entry of Russian drones into the country’s airspace.
The request comes as tensions have increased over Russian military activities on NATO’s eastern borders.
According to international news sources, Polish officials have announced that Russian drones have recently repeatedly entered Polish skies, raising serious concerns about regional security.
The Polish Foreign Ministry has emphasized that these events could constitute a serious violation of international law and require a decisive response from the international community.
The South Korean, who presides over the Security Council, has not yet responded to the request, but the issue is expected to be discussed at future meetings.
