Trump: US military raid on drug ship in Caribbean leaves 11 dead

US President Donald Trump announced that the country’s military targeted a drug-carrying ship heading to the United States from Venezuela on Tuesday 2th of September during an operation in international waters of the Caribbean Sea.

This operation, which Trump said was carried out against members of the “Tren de Aragua” group, resulted in the deaths of 11 people.

Trump stated at a press conference at the White House that just a few minutes ago we destroyed a drug ship. The ship was carrying a large amount of drugs and came from Venezuela.

He later posted a video of the attack on the social network Truth Social, showing a speedboat exploding at sea, and emphasized that the attack was a warning to anyone who intends to smuggle drugs into the United States.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also described the operation as a “deadly attack against a narco-terrorist group” and said the ship was likely headed for Trinidad or other Caribbean countries.
