The British government announced that due to the continued Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, British officials will not be invited to the 2025 DSEI International Defence and Security Industry Exhibition, which will be held in London from September 9 to 12, 2025.
According to Reuters and Politico, this decision was made in response to the escalation of the Israeli military operation in Gaza.
A British government spokesman said: “Israel’s decision to expand its military operations in Gaza is wrong and for this reason no official Israeli government delegation will be invited to DSEI 2025.
On the other hand, the Israeli Ministry of Defense called this action discriminatory and objectionable and announced that as a result, it would not set up its national pavilion at the exhibition, although Israeli defense companies such as Elbit Systems and Rafael could still participate independently.
The move follows growing pressure from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and increased humanitarian aid.
