Dan Brown appointed as new US Embassy Charge d’Affaires in Afghanistan

The US Embassy in Afghanistan, which operates from Doha, Qatar, announced that Dan Brown has been appointed as the new charge d’affaires of the embassy.

According to the US Embassy, ​​Mr. Brown has been working as the deputy head of the mission since November 2023.

He replaces another Kern who previously held this responsibility.

In a post on X-Network, the US Embassy welcomed the appointment of Dan Brown, while appreciating his service and committed leadership, and wished him success in this new role.

This change comes at a time when the US diplomatic mission in Afghanistan is operating from Qatar after the withdrawal of its forces in August 2021 and has no embassy in Kabul.
