Ukrainian drone strike knocks out power in Russian-controlled areas of Zaporizhia

According to news sources, a Ukrainian drone attack on the Zaporizhia region in southeastern Ukraine, which is under the control of Russian forces, caused a power outage in parts of the region.

Russian forces have controlled more than half of Zaporizhia, along with the Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions, since 2022, about seven months after the start of the invasion of Ukraine.

However, Kiev still controls the main administrative center of Zaporizhia, and periodic Ukrainian attacks on the region have repeatedly led to disruptions in the power supply to Russian-controlled areas.

This new drone attack reflects the continued tensions and military clashes between the two sides in this strategic region.
