NATO and US military planners are considering security options for post-war Ukraine

According to Reuters, US and NATO military planners have begun working on options for ensuring security for Ukraine after the conflict with Russia ends.

The move follows President Donald Trump’s pledge at a summit on Monday to support the protection of Ukraine in any peace deal with Russia.

However, they warned that it would take time to determine options that were both militarily feasible and acceptable to the Kremlin.

One of the options being considered is to send European forces to Ukraine under US command, but without the NATO flag and with the flags of their own countries.

Trump, who has called for a quick end to Europe’s deadly war, has refrained from sending American troops to Ukraine but has raised the possibility of air support, including providing air defense systems or establishing a no-fly zone.

This is while the Russian Foreign Ministry has rejected the presence of NATO forces in Ukraine and considered it unacceptable.
