Massive demonstration in Istanbul in support of Gaza with slogan “Be a torch of hope for Gaza”
On Saturday evening, August 9, thousands of Turkish citizens participated in a huge march in Istanbul with the slogan “Be a torch of hope for Gaza” to declare their support for the Palestinian people and condemn the Zionist regime’s genocide in the Gaza Strip.
According to news networks, the demonstration, which was held with the participation of about 15 Turkish civil society organizations, began from Beyazit Square in the European part of Istanbul and the protesters moved towards the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
Holding Palestinian and Turkish flags and placards with slogans such as “Israel, the murderer, get out of Palestine,” “The children of Gaza are waiting for us,” and “Zionist murderers will be punished,” the protesters demanded an immediate end to the crimes of the Zionist regime, the lifting of the siege of Gaza, and the sending of humanitarian aid.
The main goal of this movement was to draw global attention to the inhumane siege and systematic starvation imposed on the people of Gaza.
