25 killed, 25 injured in Kenya bus overturning incident
At least 25 people have been killed and 25 others injured after a bus overturned in southwestern Kenya, according to reports.
Al Jazeera news network reported that the incident occurred on Friday (August 8) on the bus route from Kakamega to Kisumu near the Coptic Mambolo Square.
According to reports, the victims include 10 women, 10 men, and a 10-year-old girl.
Health officials said 29 people were initially reported injured, but four of them later died at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu, bringing the total death toll to 25.
29 survivors, including a child, are still being treated in the hospital’s orthopedic trauma ward.
