Putin, UAE President meet in Moscow, focus on strategic cooperation and regional developments

Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Kremlin on Thursday.

The meeting, which took place within the framework of the UAE President’s official visit to Moscow, focused on strengthening bilateral strategic relations and reviewing regional and international issues.

According to the Kremlin, Putin expressed his pleasure at hosting the Emirati delegation, emphasized the importance of relations between Moscow and Abu Dhabi, and announced a significant increase in Russian investments in the Emirates.

He also called for an exchange of views on regional security and cooperation within frameworks such as BRICS and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also referred to the rapid development of relations between the two countries and announced that the volume of bilateral trade will reach $11 billion in 2024, and the UAE seeks to further strengthen these relations.

The topics of discussion included economic cooperation, trade, energy investment, as well as regional developments, including the Middle East crises and the war in Ukraine.
