Trump’s unexpected walk on the White House roof and joke about nuclear missiles
According to news sources, US President Donald Trump made an unexpected appearance on the roof of the White House on Tuesday 5 August and, in response to reporters’ questions about ut his construction projects, jokingly announced that he intends to deploy nuclear missiles there.
Trump, who was with James McCreary, the engineer behind the new $200 million East Wing salon project and under the protection of Secret Service agents and snipers, walked for about 20 minutes on the roof above the press conference room and inspected the grounds and the newly renovated Rose Garden.
In response to reporters’ questions about what he was planning to build, he pointed to the roof and made a dramatic gesture that resembled a rocket launch, saying: “Missiles… nuclear missiles.”
The remarks came as tensions between the United States and Russia have recently increased due to provocative statements by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Trump’s order to deploy two nuclear submarines near Russia.
