According to Reuters, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark have allocated a total of $500 million to supply American weapons to Ukraine.
This military package includes Patriot air defense system missiles, other air defense equipment, anti-tank ammunition, and spare parts.
Sweden is contributing $275 million, Norway $146 million, and Denmark $90 million to the project.
This action is being taken within the framework of a new NATO initiative called the Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), which aims to expedite the delivery of vital weapons to Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte praised the three Nordic countries for their swift action and decisive support for Ukraine, saying the aid would bring life-saving equipment to the front lines and strengthen Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against aggression.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the move as a foundation for Europe’s long-term security and considered it a model for other NATO countries.
