Zelensky: Mercenaries from China, Pakistan, and African countries are fighting alongside Russia against Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Monday (August 4 )that Ukrainian forces in the northeastern region of the country, especially on the Vuchantsek front in Kharkiv province, are engaged in clashes with “foreign mercenaries from China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and some African countries who are fighting alongside Russian forces.”

“Our soldiers have reported that mercenaries from these countries are participating in the war; we will respond,” Zelensky wrote in a post on the X social network after visiting the front line in Kharkiv.

This claim comes after Zelensky had previously accused Moscow of recruiting Chinese fighters, an accusation that Yakun has denied.

There are also reports of thousands of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region of Russia to support Moscow.

However, Pakistan has called Zelensky’s claims about the presence of its citizens in the Ukrainian war “baseless” and stated that no credible evidence has been provided by Ukraine
