New clashes in Aleppo between Kurdish forces and Golani forces
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said armed groups linked to al-Julani forces attacked some of their positions in the Deir Hafer area of northern Aleppo province on Monday morning.
The group, which controls large parts of northeastern Syria, made the claim in a post on the social network X.
The clashes come just months after the signing of a historic merger agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian interim government last March.
This agreement was signed with the aim of reducing tensions and strengthening cooperation between the parties, but recent clashes show the fragility of this understanding and the continuation of tensions in areas controlled by various groups in northern Syria.
Local sources have reported that clashes in the Deir Hafer region were accompanied by exchanges of fire and the use of heavy weapons.
Further details about possible casualties or damage have not yet been released.
