Bolton: Trump’s deployment of nuclear submarines near Russia is a dangerous move
Former White House National Security Advisor John Bolton strongly criticized US President Donald Trump’s order to deploy two nuclear submarines near Russia, describing the move as “very dangerous.”
Bolton stated that Trump lacks a proper understanding of the functioning of the US nuclear navy and the role of ballistic missile submarines as a second strike capability in the event of a nuclear war.
He also referred to the reaction of Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, and said that it is illogical for the US President to respond to an official of Medvedev’s level and that the Kremlin may misinterpret this action.
Bolton emphasized that such decisions could have serious consequences for global security.
