Sweida leaves Golani government control with Israel-US agreement

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, following an agreement brokered by the United States between Israel and the new Syrian government, the province of Sweida was effectively removed from the control of the central government of Damascus.

According to this agreement, any institution or organization affiliated with the Syrian government is prohibited from entering this province, but organizations affiliated with the United Nations are still allowed to operate in this area.

According to the terms of the agreement, the responsibility for administering and overseeing the implementation of this agreement in Sweida province has been assigned to the United States, and Washington will be committed to pursuing its full implementation.

This development comes as Sweida, a region with a Druze majority, has recently witnessed intense clashes between local groups and forces affiliated with the Golani government.
