On Sunday, July 13, 2025, US President Donald Trump announced that his country would provide Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine to counter Russian attacks.
He stated, “We are sending them Patriots, which is something they really need,” but did not provide details on the number of these systems.
At the same time, Keith Kluge, the US special envoy to Ukraine, is scheduled to travel to Kiev in the coming days to discuss military support.
On the other hand, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will also meet with Trump and senior American officials this week to make further coordination in this regard.
French officials have stressed that Europe needs broader US support to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems.
