His press secretary, Garba Shehu, announced the news on the social media platform X, writing: “The family of former President Muhammadu Buhari announced his death this afternoon in a hospital in London.
Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, traveled to Britain several times for treatment during the final years of his presidency due to numerous illnesses.
