The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that its special forces managed to thwart a sabotage and terrorist operation in the Saratov region.
According to the organization’s statement, the saboteurs intended to blow up a railway bridge in the area using a homemade bomb.
The FSB reported that the suspect, a Russian citizen with ties to Ukrainian parties, offered armed resistance during the chase and was killed by security forces.
This individual intended to flee to Ukraine after carrying out the operation; the operation was successfully thwarted on July 9 2025.
