Russian forces advance in Kharkov and heavy attacks on Kiev

Vitaly Ganchev, the head of the Russian-appointed administration in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, told RIA Novosti news agency that Russian armed forces are advancing in the region and expanding their defense line against Ukrainian forces.

According to Ganchev, Russian forces have pushed back the enemy and, by expanding the defensive line, have created a serious threat to Ukrainian military groups in the regions of Vychansk and Kupyansk.

He also stressed that these actions are part of Russia’s plan to create and expand a “buffer zone” along the Ukrainian border against enemy attacks.

On the other hand, Ukrainian media have reported that after a recent telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia’s heavy and combined attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, have intensified.

These attacks, which included the use of drones and ballistic missiles, damaged civilian and residential infrastructure in Kiev and caused casualties.
