US President Donald Trump says he has had a detailed conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in Iran.
On Saturday, June 14, Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth that Putin had called him that morning to wish him a happy birthday, but the main purpose of the call was to discuss Iran.
The US President wrote: “We spoke at length about Iran. Putin knows this country well.”
He added that the talks on the Ukraine crisis took much less time and are scheduled to continue next week.
At the same time, Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov confirmed that Putin had announced in this telephone conversation Moscow’s readiness to continue negotiations with Kiev after June 22.
