Trump changes NASA proposal before Senate vote
US President Donald Trump, just days before the Senate was to vote on Jared Isaacman’s nomination to head the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), removed him from the position to nominate a new person for the position.
Isaacman was a tech billionaire and a figure close to SpaceX and Elon Musk, who was due to be confirmed by the Senate soon.
Meanwhile, the White House said in a statement that the new NASA administrator must be aligned with the president’s slogans and priorities.
The sudden decision has sparked speculation about Isaacman’s disagreements with the White House, particularly regarding cooperation with private space companies.
