The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) said that 5,400 employees of this ministry will be laid off.
The Reuters news agency, citing a Pentagon official, reported that the measure adopted by Donald Trump to reduce the workforce of the federal government will begin next week.
The Pentagon official also added that the department plans to reduce the number of civilian employees between 5 and 8 percent, which includes a part of the Pentagon’s 950,000 civilian forces.
