The UN Security Council is holding a meeting on the threat of ISIS

The United Nations Security Council said that on Monday (20th of February) it will hold a special meeting on ISIS threats and review the six-month report of Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of this organization.

In this report, the Secretary General of the United Nations has emphasized that the Khorasan branch of ISIS is considered a threat both inside Afghanistan and outside of this country.

The report also mentioned the recent attack on Khalil-ur-Rehman Haqqani, the former head of the Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates, and said it was likely that the attacks were aimed at undermining the Islamic Emirate’s claims of providing security.
