In continuation of the tension between Washington and Panama City, the people of Panama came to the streets and burned the American flag in protest against the recent claims of the new US President Donald Trump about taking over the Panama Canal.
Previously, the government of Panama complained to the United Nations against Donald Trump, the new president of the United States, because of his threat to seize the Panama Canal.
Iloy Alfaro, Panama’s ambassador to the United Nations, stated that based on the principles of the formation of the United Nations, countries should refrain from threatening or using force and coercion against the regional unity or political independence of any country in their international relations.
