Georgia’s ruling party won the election; Western opponents did not accept
The Central Election Commission of Georgia announced on Saturday evening that based on the results of counting more than 97% of the votes, the “Georgia Dream” party won 52.99% of the people’s votes.
With this result, the Georgian Dream Party can form a government without the need for a coalition.
However, the opposition parties announced in a joint press conference in Georgia that they do not accept the election results announced by the Central Election Commission.
The opposition parties, which are in line with the policies of the European Union, have announced that the election results were stolen and that a constitutional coup had taken place.
