Syria calls for immediate international action to stop Israeli attacks

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemning the recent Israeli attacks on the southern regions of the country, has called on the United Nations and the international community to take practical and effective measures to stop these attacks and repeated violations.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry statement said that the attacks on areas of Quneitra and Daraa provinces have caused terror and fear among civilians and are a clear violation of Syria’s territorial integrity, the UN Charter, and the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.

Damascus has warned that continuing these attacks could undermine efforts to establish security and stability and lead to an escalation of tensions in the region.

This stance came after the regime’s army announced that it had targeted a number of armed individuals in the security zone in southern Syria and would continue its operations to counter what it called “security threats.

The official Syrian news agency (SANA) also reported that Israeli helicopters and artillery targeted the village of Abedin and its surrounding areas in southern Syria, forcing a number of residents to leave their homes.
