The continued violation of the Lebanese ceasefire has challenged the entirety of the understanding

Ismail Beqaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, announced that Israel’s violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon and the US’s failure to fulfill its obligations have led to a crisis in the first paragraph of the memorandum of understanding and could call the entire agreement into question.

He said that Iran has adhered to its commitments, but the other side has failed to force Israel to stop its attacks in Lebanon, which means a clear violation of the understanding.

Baghaei emphasized that Iran’s policy is based on the principle of “commitment for commitment and action for action,” and that the durability of the agreement depends on the full implementation of the commitments by the other party.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also stated that the start of negotiations to reach a final agreement in accordance with the provisions of the memorandum of understanding is conditional on the implementation of the basic clauses of the agreement by the other party, and the planned trip will be carried out with the aim of following up on the implementation of these commitments.
