Trump threatens Iran with renewed military strikes hours after announcing deal

Hours after announcing the agreement with Iran, US President Donald Trump once again threatened Tehran with military action in an interview with the New York Times.

Trump claimed that military strikes against Iran would resume if it did not reach a final nuclear deal with the United States; he also suggested that the United States take on the role of “guardian of the Middle East” in exchange for 20 percent of the region’s revenues.

In another part of his speech, the US President, referring to his relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu, said that it is very difficult to get along with the Israeli Prime Minister and that he should be grateful to America.

Trump also claimed that if Iran obtained nuclear weapons, Israel would no longer exist.

He further claimed that the agreement with Iran would ultimately ensure that the Strait of Hormuz would remain open to international shipping forever without charging tolls.
