US President Donald Trump claimed in an interview with Axios that five countries in the region had contacted him and asked him to put pressure on Benjamin Netanyahu to stop attacks on Iran.
Trump said these countries have expressed concern about the escalation of tensions and have supported the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran.
He also claimed that Israel delayed in informing the United States about its attacks on Iran, but was ultimately able to limit the scope of these attacks.
The US president went on to claim that Iran wants to reach an agreement and that this agreement may be reached soon.
